If you’re still looking for a last minute gift idea for that difficult person on your list, consider something a little bit different this year. For whoever you’re shopping for, consider a gift that will really keep on giving throughout the year.
For the Teenager:
Offer to cover, contribute, or increase their current car insurance coverage. Teenage drivers are among the highest risk drivers, and many only carry the bare minimum insurance coverage. Due to their low income, and high risk habits, these drivers need adequate coverage. Surprise your teen with comprehensive coverage under the tree.
For the New Homeowner:
Homeowners are required to carry homeowner’s insurance, but you can provide the ultimate service to a new homeowner in your family by offering to complete their home inventory with them. If you have a great video camera, or excellent computer editing skills, you can create a professional and complete home inventory which may end up being more valuable than they realize.
For New Parents:
For new parents, a life insurance policy is a great way to give them peace of mind this holiday season. Many adults do not consider life insurance until they have a family and realize they have dependents who need to be cared for. Give new parents a jump start by providing their first year’s life insurance premium; they will thank you year after year.
For the Entrepreneur:
If you have a friend or family starting their own business, give them a leg up by helping out with new business insurance. Do the research, provide them with information, or help with the first year’s premiums. All of these are great options to give a truly valuable gift for the entrepreneur who may seem to have everything they need.
For Grandpa:
For the aging relatives in your life, consider a long-term care insurance policy. This is a two-fold gift because it provides Grandpa the care he needs without having to pay out of pocket, and it will help you down the road when Grandpa can no longer live on his own. He may have a difficult way of showing it, but Grandpa will appreciate knowing he is going to be taken care of.
